About the Author

As children stood in line to have their books signed by L.B. Anne, she noticed a little girl off to the side. Whenever  LB glanced her way, the child backed behind her parent.

 

After signing every book and talking to each child, LB packed up her display and sighed with happiness at having had a successful event.

​

The little girl slowly walked toward her with a book pressed to her chest.

 

"I read your book," she whispered and held out one of LB's Curly Girl Adventures books. "I drew a picture too."

"And you have curly hair just like the Curly Girl Club," LB said as she signed the book. She studied the Curly Girl illustration. "Is this for me?"

 

The girl nodded.

 

"It's beautiful," said LB. "Would you sign your drawing for me?"

 

LB had never seen a brighter smile, and sat and talked a while longer with the child and her parent.

 

It was all she needed to inspire her to write her next story.
